9800 pro BURNING HOT?!?

i just got the ICE-Q radeon 9800 pro.
i had a quiet system before the card, and wanted that to continue.

problem is that i didn't know how hot the 9800pro memory modules got.
it came with ramsinks, but the sinks are flaming hot after a game.

i have a very very mild overclock going.

is it just me, or are 9800s really this hot?

the thing that sucks is that now i've gotta turn up my case fans to get more air in the system.
that equals more noise. AGH.

In my Hercules 9700pro it?s impossible to touch the ram heatsinks after hour or 2 of running (load) w/o good air flow

With out high air flow they will stay blazing hot ,sry

Might want to look into a new vga cooler.

i got the ICE-Q because it's built-in with an arctic VGA cooler. AFAIK, this is the quietest and coolest solution on the market. especially because it kicks the hot air out of the system.

the problem isn't the gpu, rather the ram.

to combat the problem, right now i've got a low rpm fan sitting right on top of the card's ram sinks.
i'm sure it's helping, but i don't want that to be my permanent solution.
