Okay, my old rig's mobo up and died on me so I went out and bought this "latest and greatest" from ABIT, the VT7.

I re-built my machine last night, same RAM (2x sticks of Samsung DDR 512mb), same drives, etc. Drop in my new ATI 9800 Pro and all I get is a banner across the screen (prior to post) that reads something like this "You have not connected your computer's power supply to the video card" Umm, yes I have, 6 ways to Sunday.

I pulled the card and tried it in my other rig (XP2100+ with a generic PSU) and it works fine.

My rig runs and Enermax 465w PSU, it's not garbage. I've tried resetting the BIOS, using the other video connector on the card. Nothing seems to work. I really don't want to have to return the card either.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance.

Is there anything else (i.e. Hard drive, Cdrom drive, Fan) connected
to the line you are using to the video card?

Yes, good idea, I should try a clean line straight from the PSU.

Tried the straight line, it worked until I tried to bump the resolution up beyond default. It blacked the sscreen at that point. I tried my kid's PSU, no go.

It's going back. I should have stuck with nvidia based cards. ATI has always found a way to lose me as a customer.

Now to deal with Newegg's "exchange only" policy...
