9800 power question

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I wanted to make absolutley sure.

For the 9800 pro power, must I use the included pass through or can I just plug a power conector from my PSU directly into it? I have it that way right now.

I know it seems obvious, but I just wanted to make sure

FYI, the pass-thru is just in case you don't have a spare 4-pin connector. It doesn't modify the current in any way, it's just a splitter.

That was my assumption, as it didnt look any different than any other splitter I had ever seen, but when I spend that much money on something, I want to be sure, even if it was irrational 🙂

I've just installed a 9800 myself. I've got one power cable supplying both my cdrw and the 9800. Will that be enough juice for the 9800 or should it be on it's own cable?
Also, with the 2 things hooked up to one cable, does the first device that is hooked up get more current than the second. Obviously I don't know much about electricity but anyone's help would be appreciated.

Chris
