9800 Power Connector Question

I'll be getting a 9800 Non Pro or maybe a 9800 Pro if my dad is in a very good mood this weekend to go along with my new system coming in on Thursday or Friday. My question is, do I have to use the power splitter included or connect I connect a power line directly from my PSU to the card? I'm pretty sure I'll have extra wires because this is an Antec True Power 380W and seems to have enough. If it does, will it be fine or does that wire give out a limited amount of electricity?

I'm a n00bie when it comes to electricity other than how some PSU's work so thats why I have to ask lame questions like this....

The 9800 uses a standard 4 pin connector (same type your hard drives, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, etc. use). You should be fine just using the connector on the Antec. The real reason they include that splitter thing is if you didn't have enough connectors for your hard drives, CD-ROM, etc. (basically many pre-built systems may have a custom PSU that has EXACTLY the ammount of 4 pin connectors that the system was going to use when it was built).

i have the antec trueblue 480 which has alot of connectors too.

i still use the splitter tho. i didnt want to have to keep unplugging / plugging into the card. the connecter just dosent look too sturdy. do now i just unplug from the splitter when i need to.

my voodoo5 has a similar connection, 3dfx gave me a y cable that split a single molex into two parts. so you would not have to sacrafice one. not sure if ati gives one.
