I just upgrade from a ti4600 to a 9800pro(with r360 core) and found something a little odd. The fps actually dropped. If your familiar with IL2, i flew over berlin and the min fps was 17 on the 9800 but the min fps on the ti4600 is 22. I might be trading my 9800 for a 5900 but here's my question: i have been reading that while the 5900 will give you better performance on dx8 games(which il2 forgotten battles is), it sux on dx9 games(which is the present and the future. Any sugfestions. Oh an aa and af mean very little to me(more like icing on the cake).

You probably have a driver problem. Did you use driver cleaner? What does smartgart say about your agp speed?

Some cards render differently and some games communicate differently with different drivers. The avg FPS likely increased by a lot. Framerates drop low in some points of game no matter which card you have.

And the X800 XT-PE can take that, that wasnt the original question was it?
9800 line is better in all respects over the 5900.

What OpenGl are you talking about the 9800pro scores better in RTCW which is OpenGL. Are you referring to the beta Doom 3 benchmarks? To say those should be taken with a grain of salt is an understatement.

Nope this is just one of those things that gets said once and is parroted, not true.
