today trying for the ultimate active cooling mod using the thermaltake slim volcano link
i did this today sucessfully and will now not be investing any money into heatpipe or other solution.. i have found this to work best.. using two screws and 2 semi-soft rubber spacer washers about 1/8" thick. i have pictures of the whole process,
at some point i will be posting pictures of it when i find out how. too much trouble just to make a web site for this.is there any way i can post a pic here?
well any way , this cooling works amazingly good. so far im up to 425/324 and under the gpu on the pcb it is cooler then when i had other solutions runnin at 400core clock. i dont know how far i want to try to push this thing. it runs considerably cool but just tryin to stay safe. 436.50 is the max rage 3d will let me clock it but i dont know if i should try that.this card is too sweet to ruin over a couple fps. if anyone else has done this or similar mods on an bba 9800 np w/stock bios, let me know how high you dared out the clock on the core up to, and been stable with no damage.
