Uh, yes. Sounds like the core is too high and freezing the comp.

Perhaps. I bet if you flash to Pro you probably won't have anymore problems. Set it back to stock speed just to verify it is your o/c.

And why the heck did you put an AMD heatsink on that thing anyways?

Try going back to the 3.7 cats.
Just from reading other threads, people are saying 3.8's run hotter.

Doesn't make that much sense to me, but it's worth a try.

Lockup is caused by the GPU speed being too high... when the RAM gets too high you get artifacts and tearing before lockups.

I agree with the last two guys. Go back to the Catalyst 3.7 Drivers and keep your 9800 at stock 9800 pro speeds and you should be good. I have a Power Color 9800 SE and have it softmodded with third party cooling, running nice and snug at 9800 Pro speeds. I am creating a little blurb with pics to put onto my website and will let you all know how I make out with the 3dmark testing. On another note My brother bought a Sapphire 9800 SE from NewEgg.com refurbed and it too can run the 9800 Pro speeds with 3rd party cooling.
