9800 NON PRO Available now!

Well, in some of the other forums people claimed to have found and bought 9800 Non Pro cards. I decided to call up a few of them, no luck. One of them in my area in Indiana, for those of you around here, its the one on 82nd street. They have it for $299, sure beats the 9700 Pro. I asked him why the other ones don't carry it, he said it was because only the biggest stores have it in stock.

Also, they ALL told me after I asked them, (about 5 or 6 people), that there won't be any price cuts soon. One of them explained to me that ATI didn't want to drop the price on the Pro's to $299, so instead they released a 9800 Non Pro. Just for comparison, the 9800 non pro is 128MB just like the 9700 Pro, (duh!), but it is faster than the 9700 Pro and slower than the 9800 Pro. So it fits right in and makes sense insetad of the 9700 pro being faster than it which is what I was afraid of.

Best of all, I have a $200 Gift Card to the place coming in, so I'll get it for $99 + tax. Now all I'm trying to do is find a coupon or something and try to get a 15% off coupon or something, hehe. If I get that, they wil treat the Gift card as cash, take $45 off of $300, and with my $200 GC, it'll be $55 for me! That is if I can find a coupon.... off to fatwallet.com

What makes your post a "Conformation" compared to the other folks who have already reported this cards availability at Best Buy. The others "claim", but you "confirm". LOL

Seriously? Where at?

I've been watching the 9700 Pro and 9800 line for a few weeks now and I haven't seen a 9800 non pro at any store online or local except for today when I heard that BB now carries the 9800 non pro.

*confirmed* only applies to posts that are complete rumor, fiction, opinion, half-truths, or outright lies.

Was at BB. I had to exchange my 9800Pro last week for a new one (due to a frickin water leak). Anyway, they had them in the store right next to the 9800Pros'.

Why don't you want to add another fan? The Radeon cards aren't very loud, you can always get the Zalman HP...A heatsink and put that one to run without a fan.
