9800 GTX & PCI Express 2.0

Hi, I plan to buy an 9800 GTX & was wondering do I need a board that supports PCI Express 2.0?

If not then what is the performance difference over PCI 16x?

The 9800GTX may not even completely saturate all of a PCIE x16 lane. The difference is probably negligible.

There is no performance difference and you don't need a pcie 2.0 board.
