9800 GTX OCed vs 3870 X2 OCed

As i had reported earlier my friends 9800 GTX has gone up till 844Mhz Core, 1210 Memory and 2100 Mhz Shaders and mine 3870 X2 is at 841 Mhz Core/ SHaders and 1030 Memory...!! "

All done by error correction method" and i made 2 new gamein' rig's that i finished just today!!!

We have almost the same *NEW* set up...!!!

*My new CRT will come in a while till then i am stuck with a 19" HP LCD with max 1280 x 1024 resolution //Sorry// So all test will be at that...!!

9800 GTX "Friend" / 3870 X2 "me"
750 W / 1200 W

We tested our systems out so here are the results:-

First *My fav* CRYSIS@ 2X AF and at Med. -

9800 GTX 45
3870 x2 40

Then Bioshock @ MAx and 2AF -

9800 GTX 94
3870 x2 79

Lastly COD4 but since we were getting an odd problem with 3870 x2 with artifacts "Maybe the overclocking". I will try and solve it and give a score. I hate to say it but i find that 9800 GTX OCed did in fact deliver that the 9800 GX2 could not!!!

Once you crank up the resolution the 3870x2 should overtake the 9800gtx.

Don't you mean the 3870x2? It would be a little better comparison at 1680 or 1920 but it appears you aren't CPU limited anyway. Those are interesting results nonetheless.

I seem to remember that the 9800 gets better mins but the 3870x2 gets better avg fps.

But 1280 isnt representative of these cards performance.
