it is pretty clear that AMD/ATi's TOP priority is Fusion
- but they will get out a High-end product if they are able

we all saw the writing on the wall .. about 2-1/2 years ago

it is a good plan for AMD - to hold the midrange, attack the IG with their MBs and develop CrossFireX - to lead to Fusion!

but it is not in line with my own vision - i MUCH prefer a single Powerful GPU .. so i doubt AMD will be in my rig for much longer - at least through this year
.. AMD is tough competitor with their own awesome vision. i wish them well

yea, AMD def. has vision, being a smaller company of the two (Intel being the other) it has given intel a run for its money. They have integrated memory controller on the diode, they were the first to drop out of the gigahertz race and to announce dual core cpus...

Hgh-End market isn't as lucrative as the mid-low segment. When acquiring a new company, sustaining profitability should be key otherwise your stock will tank and your board will not support the effort (that being ATI)

ya, I rather see the multicore approach for GPUs. It make sense for avg. desktop gamers. It is the same concept as to why gamers aren't going dual socket machines!
I hope AMD will compete with Nvidia on a different level, it has the fab plant and engineering to do so.

maybe then I will consider to get rid of my Nividia.

The real question, is do we know any confirmed specs about the G100/G200? Thats really all that matters at this point, not whether or not its gonna be 65nm or 55nm.

Is it too much to ask that the high-end and enthusist marketed cards last over a month before Nvidia decides that its time to phase them out.

"Channel partners indicate that the 9800 GTX and GX2 will begin phasing out next month in preparation for the GT200 launch. Both companies have made promises to show demonstrations of their next-gen cards at the Computex Taipei trade show on June 3, 2008."
