I built my brother a new system at Christmas with the MSI board and a Duron 800. It was working fine, and pretty much still is, but there is one problem. He tells me at bootup, he receives an error that states it can't find the files named vredir.vxd and dfs.vxd. He said he can hit a key to continue. When it continues, everything works correctly. The system runs totally fine without any problems. What is the problem here and how can it be corrected?

ask what he did right before he got those errors. sounds like he uninstalled a program but it still searches for some of those files at startup. Go into the registry and look for some startup value that might be loading those files. You can also look in the startup folder
