Last couple of weeks, my 98 Rodeo has begun idling high. It doesn't go away after warming up or driving it any certain length. How can I correct this other than paying a couple hundred to my mechanic to fix?

I'd say checking for broken vacuum lines going to the intake manifold or to the throttle body would be a good place to start.
IAC and MAP/MAF would be the next place to look.

ha hello fellow '98 isuzu rodeo driver. Mine occasionally does this as well...usually when it's been run for a long time and hot outside. I'll clutch, revs will creep up to about 2k and hold until a few seconds after i come to a stop, and then drop back down to idle. i know i have a vacuum leak, so that could be it, but i've never replaced the MAF sensor or anything either.
