I've got the sports car bug and was thinking about getting one of these - I've seen a few (97-98) listed in the area for around 10k-13k.

anyone have any experiences or thoughts on this car they'd like to share??

I think they look nice. I don't know how much power they have but I assume they feel quick off the line.

They're way expensive considering how fast they are, but they're cool cars. I'd personally stick with the GS-T just for the fact that it's easier to upgrade and you don't have to worry about upgrading the drivetrain if you wanna make big HP as compared to the AWD setup on the GSX. And while the 0-60 might be better on the GSX, it's heavier and the advantages in straight line end after you hit 50 MPH.

Trust me get the GSX....my friend's GSX has awesome traction coming off the line. I've seen some GS-T spin thier front wheels like crazy trying to coming off the line cuz they be FWD. Get the AWD hands down

:D

well, remember guys, I'm not into either "teh money" or the after-market upgrade action.

A friend of mind just got a 98 gst and my wife was saying that she thought it was an nice looking "fun car." While he will be spending mad cash to upgrade stuff, I'm just wanting to know if there are any compelling reasons (issues) that these cars should be avoided or any reason for caution.

I live in Ohio, so we do (occasionally) get some winter weather, so the AWD might be nice for that reason. I'm not concerned so much with smoking people in the 1/4 as I am with just having a fun quick car to drive (as opposed to my current 92 Corolla).

i would stay away from the mistu's if reliablity is the concern. Around that range you can pick up Nissan 240sx and fun factor is that it's RWD and that begs to be driven hard in turns :)

I wanted a GSX, but could only afford a GS. Definately skip the GS-T and get the GSX, you won't be dissapointed with AWD, esp up there in Ohio. When I did live in Indiana, I had all kinds of problems with my GS and snow, so save yourself the hassle and get AWD! :)

hmm...the only way this will work is if I can convince my wife to go for it, and she doesn't like the the look of the nissan. <shrug>

the other possibility is just to spend the same money and get a 99 cougar v6 - she likes those too.
