I just installed an ATI 9700 Non Pro into a system spec'ed as ->

AthlonXP 1700
Crucial 256mb DDR
No sound card yet to keep trouble shooting simple
Lite on 48x CDRW
I can succesfully install windows XP(sp1 slipstream) and VIA 4.45's and everything functions fine. Once I install the 3.0 or 3.1 cats, I get random lockups when sitting on the desktop. I have two of these cards(powercolor Non pro's), but function fine in a system based around an Nforce2 board(8rda+). But either card in this sytem gets lock ups.
Any ideas? I've flashed the latest Bios and the 9700's both came with a core clock of 326, so I've even flashed the video cards to allow me to set the speeds to 275, but I still get lock ups.
