9700NP and jerkiness in graphics

I got a 9700np and it's exhibiting jerkiness in frame rates in DAOC and I don't know why.
I flashed it to 9700Pro bios and it the benchmark went up considerably, but i still experience
the jerkiness in the only FPS game I play. I must admit, with the default settings in the ATI
control panel, the screen looks better than my GF3 did. I've heard that because the card can
handle it, I should bump up the resolution to at least 1280x1024, so I did. No difference in speed
but there is still lagginess or jerkiness in the frame rates. I don't believe the card is not fast
enough, rather a setting or a conflict somewhere. I get laggy graphics even when in 800x600.
I never got lag even with my GF3.

Is there a common cause for this?

Did you do a clean install of drivers,if not I recommend you use Driver Cleaner 1.9 to remove all traces of old nvidia drivers.

Drvier Cleaner 1.9 .

Also is this in OpenGL or D3D?I find I get better performance in OpenGL games with the sliders to the right in OpenGL where it has textures settings and mipmap, leave trueform off.

Also try disabling fastwrites in the smartgart tab.

What rig are you using? Maybe bottlenck effect. Try cat 3.6 also.

Yes, I used DC prior to installation of the 9700.

I will try to move the sliders to right then.

My system is a Barton @ 11x200 on an 8RDA+ w/ 512 meg Corsair XMS3200CPT stick
