Happens in Q3 only as far as I can tell. Playing D3 on the card too, but that's such a slow paced game that I'm not even sure that I'd notice.... Anyway, I'll be playing along (at a very steady 125 fps) and about every minute or so the game will hang for a split second. I disabled fast writes, don't have the card currently OC'd, have all the latest drivers for the card, MB, and windows, and the problem persists. I do not have this problem on the exact same system with a GF4 4200. Even tried a fresh XP install and that didn't help. If I can't fix this I'm going to sell the 9700 and keep the 4200, and that plays D3 just about as fast at 1 notch lower resolution. (have to drop to 800x600 but game still looks great). Any helpful tips are appreciated. Thanks!

sry...

Asus a7n8x rev 2
Barton 2500 running at 3200
1 gig (3 sticks) various memory running at 133 fsb <gasp>
Radeon 9700 np <stock> OR GF4 4200 128 clocked to the moon. <no issues>
Tried the Omega 4.7 cats and the standard 4.8 cats. Maybe I'll try the beta 4.9's next.

I have clocked the CPU down to stock and the problem is stilll there. The GF4 is like butter.

Latency may be the issue. Never had that problem myself, so not sure. You may have to register at driverheaven to view this thread.

Are you running background programs in your system tray like anti-virus?

Do you have the latest BIOS, chipset drivers and ATi reference drivers installed?
