Yeah, I think the biggest issue is the fact that it's quite hard to find. I would have gotten one if I found one, but no luck.

You can also turn everything on to max with an nVIDIA card. You sound like the MX is the only card nVIDIA has.

Moving from an MX to a 9700Pro had to be a shock to you, to see the difference. I went from a Ti200 > Ti4200 > 9800np myself. After seeing the 9800 in action, there is no looking back. I recently put a 9600XT Ultra in a new build and that thing also rocks.

I pre-ordered mine ... before they hit the USA.

I paid a premium of $336.00 for an OEM.

Although the card had a 'shim problem'. I fixed it with a crystal orb quite easily.
(and added some Alpha fins for the DDR while I was at it)

I've been running it 24/7 at 360 / 340 since the week I got it.

It's awsome.

I also went into graphics shock ,,, cuz I went from a 7500 to a 9700pro.

MX to 9700 Pro is a big leap, welcome to modern times.

I went from GF2 Ti to 9700NP so know how you feel,it makes every penny you spent on the faster 9700 Pro worth a little extra ;).I still have an old GF2 MX collecting dust somewhere in one of my boxes.

Welcome to the club of "Oh-that's-how-it's-supposed-to-look" :)
When from a Kyro II and spent my $ when the 9700 Pro was brand new - and over a year after, it's still cruising along.

Cheap shot at nVidea (hey, relax - nForce is the second hart of my computer :) - consider what nVidea had to offer when ATI released the 9700 Pro...

I went from a GF2TI to a 9700PRO, and I still have not needed to overclock it. :)

I got mine a on Sept. 21, 2002 just a couple of days after realease, for $200USD at Electronic Boutique. The manager mistakenly put it in the 50% off bin, and then forced the discount at the register. A year and a half later it still has a couple of buck worth of equity.

Wow, that was a heck of a leap. I went from a GF4 Ti4200 to a 9700 Pro and was still thoroughly impressed. Put the FSAA and anisotrophic filtering to some good use now! :D

Tried that, makes GTA:VC chug along around 10fps with 8xAA\8XAF.

EDIT: Was overclocked to 450/900 when I tried that...

Same here.
I had a GF3 Ti200 @230/510, and replaced it with a Sapphire9700pro.
I confidently say that its the best upgrade, with the most performance and IQ impact that ive done thus far.

I tried Vice city just then with Stock 400Mhz and 850Mhz core on the FX5900 Drivers 53.03 Max 8x AA and 8XAF it does slow down to 30FPS but not 10FPS ... but my friend slowed down the same with his 9800 card on the same max settings so whats your point ???

I only have an Athlon 2500+ at stock 1.8Ghz and i run games better then u ohh and i also score 6000 in 3Dmark with overclocking the FX5900 some people cant even get that with OC'ed 9800 Pro's its all about the tweaking!!!! makes games look better run better and your whole system more stable. If i had a 9800 Pro i probably could get it to do more then 6000 :)
