9700 Pro. What is the maximum resolution I can get?

I was about to order a Dell 24 inch monitor. Its resolution is 1920 X 1200.

I just checked and it seems that the maximum resolution I can get out of my 9700 Pro is 1280 X 1024. I get this info when I go to: Control Panel - Display - Settings.

Is this the maximum resolution I can get or does XP reports this as it is the highest resolution that my old Dell 1901FP can show?

In short, can I get 1920 X 1200 with my 9700 or do I need to buy a new card? I am not a gamer and I am perfectly happy with my 9700.

A 9700 Pro will easily do 1920X1200. You are seeing the maximum of 1280X1024 because your current monitor can't go higher than that. A 9700Pro supports 2038X1536 as it's maximum resolution if I remember correctly. So you should be just fine.

Thanks, for the info Mickey21.

I just managed to find the specs on ATI's web site and the maximum resolution is 2048 X 1536

Fixed.

A 9700 Pro can play pretty much any pre Farcry title at or around 2048 decently.

I am not a gamer so I do not care if my 9700 is fast enough for demanding games.

Provided my 9700 can get 1920 X 1200 I am happy.

I'm hoping to be able to play World of Warcraft in 1920x1200 on my new Sony 900 monitor. I have a Sempron 2400+, gig of ram and a 9600xt, but I think I might be able to get away with it by turning off AAx6 with maximum draw distance and AF.

...I hope...
