9700 Pro VPU resetting, etc.

When playing games, and once while just in desktop, my comp will lock up for several seconds and the montior cuts off for a few seconds, followed by a message that the VPU has reset because the "graphics card was no longer responding to graphics commands" or whatever. I've been playing UT2003 for over a year now and last night was the first time I've ever gotten a General Protection Fault error (the VPU didn't reset, but the game closed and I got the general protection fault). Here's what I've tried to resolve the problem:

other Catalyst drivers
going from 8x to 4x AGP
reinstalling the games

Yes, I am overclocking a little bit (P4 3.0c @ 3375 MHz), but this has been going on since before I overclocked a single piece of hardware. I haven't tried using another power supply yet, but I'm trying to avoid that until I have no choice.

I appreciate your replies. thx

My recommendation is to shut off 'VPU Recovery' altogether. Nothing but problems for as well until I disabled it. A useless feature in my book.🙂

I guess I should have mentioned that I tried turning VPU recover off. When VPU recover is off it just locks up and I can't do anything.
