9700 pro problems with some motherboards

This is the best place to look for existing problems on the 9700.

Hope those of you having problems at least take a SEARCH in the forums there for any issues with your specific MB.

from what ive been hearing from sites was that it is actually the motherboards that arent compatible with the radeon not the other way around. but never know. 4x is good enough for anything now so i avoided the whole mess

That was posted at SEPTEMBER. ATI already gone through several revisions and driver update to fix those problems.

Correct and any "fixes" ATi might have made were just workarounds for poor quality motherboards and chipsets. If you buy a cheapo motherboard that has a poor brand name you'll usually get exactly what you pay for.

It's the GeForce DDR fiasco all over again - the video card being blamed for crappy motherboards.

As noted, a mobo problem.

At least some of the mobos that weren't R9700-ready apparently have new bioses available.
