9700 pro making me sick!

I am the proud new father of an atlantis 9700 pro after upgrading from a GF3 Ti 200. I deleted the old Nvidia drivers, install the new card and immediately crank up everything I possibly could. I decided to see what improvements were made by launching Americas Army and what would you know, its a new game. Everything was going great for the first 30 minutes when I noticed I was starting to get a weeee bit weeezy. I had been running the Ti200 at ultra low settings to help make the game a bit smoother. Not only did it make the game smoother but it also made it feel "slower" due to the lack of detail and texture the feeling of movement and motion was considerably less. That became very obvious after spending some "get to know you time" with the new card running at 1280X1024 with AA and AF cranked and with game settings set to ultra high. Everything looked great! But every crack in the wall, every floor tile, every small detail took its toll on ole Blooze's eyes and pretty soon it was time to revisit Mr's Blooze's home cooked meal. YEHAWWWW! lol. I haven't had this much fun getting sick since the state fair when I was 12 years old and riding the "gravitron" lol.

Just a quick note to all the Tech Turds that hang out here.
Thanks for all the help. My 2500, NF7, and my gig of kingston should be here tomorrow. I was able to steer away from several pitfalls by stumbling onto this site a few months back. All without ever asking a question. There is a pile of knowledge here and it has been a great resource.

Catch ya later,,,,,,,, I gotta hurl!!!!!! WOOT!

i upgraded to a 9700pro from a GF2 gts as well,
Initially performance suck, but after a nice and clean reformat,
this card worked so well for me,
its been almost 1 and a half years now, since I bought the 9700pro,
and still working flawless for my needs ;)

Not the same situation but I bought a 9500 pro upgrading from a gf2ti and I read and read on different forums and agree - just reformat. Uninstall even with different download programs gives you sucky performance.

Course if you want to sell it (just joking but I have 9700 pro envy) ..

New hard drive, yum, fresh install of everything and you'll rock!

Great story Blooze, I have felt a bit nauseous a few times due to gaming as well, you know you have a good setup when you get motion sickness from a game. :)

Maybe it's just me but I don't see Blooze complaining about a problem with his card/drivers... Why the talk of reformating?

Yeah, I'm starting to think no one reads posts anymore. HE WAS PRAISING THE CARD PEOPLE. It was so good, in fact, he got sick from it. Bah!

Anyway, sounds like fun, I'll be joining hte 9700 ranks soon as well!

LOL, yeah! read between the lines on this one. He's getting woozy from all the details he notices now with the 9700pro compared to his ol' one.

ROFL. That's the answer to everything isn't it?

"I'm having problems with my marriage"

-> reformat!

;)

I hear voices that tell me to hurt people. Everyone says I should see a Psychiatrist but just think I'll reformat instead.

Hmmm....

Reformating a marriage sounds dangerously like erasing the spouse!

Probably some drawback to that approach, like some mod locking your life thread! ;)

I just went from a GF ti-200 to a 9800 Pro. I have played quite a few FPS's including Call of Duty and haven't noticed a problem such as what you describe. I will say there is an adjustment period to get used to the enhanced graphics so maybe over time it will get better.

You sure you're running 85Hz and not 60Hz on the monitor? Just one cause of sickness.
