I am at a loss here. I bought a 9700 Pro off another guy at work.
I plug it into an A7N8X motherboard, and on goes the AGP Warning light. This light, according to the manual is telling me that the video card is a 3.3V video card and that the machine will intentionally not POST with this video card in.
I have been googling this for hours, literally, and all leads indicate that this should be working.
The *only* odd piece of information I've found is through ATI's website, but the information has no follow up information.
from ATI's site. Results on Product Part Number 1029421210 (from a sticker on the back of the card)
Product Description:
RADEON 9700 PRO 180MB (GATEWAY)
BIOS Part Number:
11394212100
What the heck is the (GATEWAY) bit at the end? Does this mean this video card came from a gateway computer, and as such is some freak of nature video card that doesn't conform to any standards or specs?
Lastly, from all images I've seen of 9700 pros, it looks overall identical. Heatsink layout, 1.5V and 3.3V slots in the AGP connector, etc...
Note, I also decided to try the card in a L7VMM3 motherboard for kicks, and the machine did not POST.
