Just upgraded my puter to a 9700 pro... I've got an Athlon 2400, 1 gig ram, and the Pro card now.
Everything works more or less fine, HOWEVER...
In 3dMark03(and to a very small small extent UT2003, and to a much larger extent Shadowbane...) I get artifacts that are totally unacceptable.
It basically looks like invidivual polygons are "lighting up" randomly... all over the place... so that ultimately it looks like at any one time on the screen half a dozen polygons are lit up, and this is happening very quickly. The overall effect is obviously horrible. It is worst on the Trolls in the 3dmark03 benchmark (you don't see ANY artifacts on the WWII war planes one, you see only a few on the space fight one) - the trolls are a virtual disco themselves, as well as their surroundings. The girl's sword also appears white to me... according to screenies that I've seen this doesn't seem right either.
SO, I have fiddled with all sorts of settings - changed bios settings around, changed in game settings (for Shadowbane at least - went through every one turning it up, down, off, etc), and changed the "acceleration" setting for the card in windows... NOTHING has helped.
This has happened with at least two different sets of drivers...
Does anyone know what's going on??
Do I have a bad card? I have not read anywhere of anyone else having this problem.
Thanks
