Well, it came today, about... 2 hours ago. I claned up all my old nVidia drivers, and installed the cat 1.10's, along with that nifty doo-dad ATI-tool. Here are just a few of my findings, in my tinker-time.

default core/mem = 325/310
stable core/mem after 20 minutes of burn in = 370(.29)/325(.60)

3Dmark05 = 2143, it was 750 on my 5700u, which was oc'd
3Dmark03 = 5147, it was 4020 on my 5700u, which was oc'd

After playing HALO, Unreal 2k4, and Rome, I must say, i'm EXTREMELY pleased with this card (2x AA and some AF with unreal now, which I like). I gave ATI a shot, and i'm sure i'll come back 🙂

only one problem, the catalyst control center, didn't work, I just uninstalled it. But do you think the reason for that is the fact that im running SP1 instead of SP2?

Touch the back of your boardwhere the GPU sits. Then buy an arctic silencer and feel the difference. Its amazing! Then clock it higher!

Depending on how much my 5700u bundle sells for on ebay, that may be in the cards 🙂

370 is pretty good on the core with the stock heatsink. You might be able to hit 400 with a silencer. Both the 9700s I had would only do 340-350 on the stock heatsink and would clock 20-25MHz higher with a VGA silencer.

Skip the CCC, the only feature it adds is AI, which you can get without all the overhead of the CCC if you use Omega drivers.

As soon as I give the whiney little fan on it a little gear oil for the bearings, and it quiets down, it'll be even nicer!

Try out the Omega drivers. You get all the features of the latest Cats (AI, etc.) without the bloated Catalyst Control Center (don't need .NET either). I've been using the Omegas for a couple months and I have been very impressed so far.

Also allows you to overclock in Display Properties, eliminating the need for ATI tool at boot.

You will never get that whiney little fan quiet. Chased me right into a zalman heatpipe and wasn't whiney anymore.
