Is there a way to get a clean and trouble free install of a 9700 Pro on the nForce2 chipset?

What would be the procedure to accomplish this? Around the holidays I tried this and eventually gave up. The screen corruption and total lockups drove me round the bend.

I could give a flying fig if I have ATI or nVidia in my box, I just want a hassle free/trouble free experience with my AMD proc setup. I don't crap gold bricks, so don't give me that - you ought to go Intel shiz because it isn't going to happen any time soon. I figure if nVidia can pull it off, then ATI ought to be able to as well.
 
My 9700 PRO installed without a single problem on my NF7-S board. What kind of problems are you having?
 
my steps to a clean install


Install XP
install SP1
reboot
run windows update
reboot
run windows upate if need be
reboot
install chipset drivers
reboot
make a drive image 🙂
install directx 9
reboot
install cat 3
reboot
install control panel
reboot

install all remaining drivers
