Question 970 evo nvme in raid lifespan?

I am debating on getting 2x970 evo 500gb and noticed the lifespan of the 500 are much lower then the 1tb. I was wondering if the lifespan will be used up by the average person/gamer, i dont do anything else but game and run benchmarks.
Also i read that the random read/writes can possibly be slower on a raid.... would it be noticeable? i can get 2 500gb for 200 and a 1tb would cost me 250 online. is why i was debating thank you.
