965p-DS3 rev3.3 and a Q6600

Hi all,

I currently have a 965p-ds3 rev3.3 running an e6400@3.2 and am thinking about moving to a q6600. I have 2x 1gb patriot ddr2 800 for ram.

I haven't really been following with the current cpu technology curve so I was hoping that I do not have to change out the ram. If I do, what speed would I need?

overall, I am hoping there are other 965p owners who have done this move and what are some of their specs.

let me know.

thanks

My previous system was with 965p ds3 rev 3.3 and q6600 with 2x1 gb patriot value ram. You will be fine, but I don't know about overclocking. Didn't overclock that system. But I think the board should do 333 fsb easy even with the quad.
