Not much of an upgrade, by itself, but I'm hoping it will help with DeepSkyStacker.
The program runs pretty much on a single thread when scanning an image file for stars, then would max out all 4 cores of my 965 while stacking the image files. I've thrown 21 files at it and it took an hour and a half before generating the resulting image. Most stacking is done with between 30 and 100 images.
My 965 was a C2 core, the 1090 runs much cooler.
