I can get the 9800pro EZ for about $20 more than I can get the 9600xt (some places, for about the same)... so which is faster?

I can't spend $200 for a vid card... but I can spend about $110-$140 for one.

Thanks for the info.

the EZ just means that it doesn't come with lots of software.

the 9800 pro destroys the 9600xt

Why I ask is because the EZ is supposed to be the 128-bit memory version of the regular 9800pro... I wondered how badly it crippled it.

I have a 9800 Pro EZ by Powercolor, it's an ok card, but I was a little disappointed, as the memory clock was at 300 instead of the 340 it should be at as a pro. However, it overclocked to this speed easily, I was able to have 405/360 run stable. I still can't get over my disappointment in it, because I didn't realize the 128-bit difference at first. In a comparison to other scores in 3dMark05, it scores about 200 less than a normal pro at stock on a comparable system.

I would definately recommend the 9800 Pro EX over the 9600XT though

Cool, thanks for the input there. Now as far as Newegg refurbs, are they reliable usually?
