The Sapphire Ultimate 9600XT runs mid 60C?s under load so you are running pretty cool.

In that test the 9800?s were running even quite a bit hotter than that. Even up in the 70C?s would be ok.
My BBATI 9600XT idles at 45C and 51C under load -- but I don?t think the on-die diode is reading accurately. When I boot up cold it starts reading around 38C which is 10-12C warmer than my CPU. It should be reading high 20?s.
Most of the reviews I?ve seen the 9600XT idled in the low 30?s?s and close to 40C under load. I pulled my hsf off and applied AS ceramique to make sure it was making good contact with the GPU. Lowered my idle temps 2C to the 45C noted above. There seems to be quite a variance in accuracy with those on-die diodes.
