What card will perform better in a A64 3000+ @ 2.5 ghz / Mobo k8v-x se:

1) Radeon 9600XT from Sapphire, 128mb / 128 bits
(core: 500mhz / memo 600mhz)

2) GeForce 6600LE from ProLink, 128mb/128 bits
(core: 350 mhz / memo 600mhz)

I was told that the geforce will perform better, because the newer tecnology, like possibility to use SM3.0 and stuff...

What card should i get? Its not 2 buy, i need to choose one between both..

It's possible that core of the 6600LE (NV43-V) is in fact 6200 core which is 4 pipes but unlockable to 8 pipes. In that case it'll be faster than 9600xt.

@dazed
Unfortunately, the 6800XE isnt a choice for me.

i have to choose between those two, only =\

@russian
and if the pipes are unlockeables?

Then you are looking at an 8 pipe 350mhz card which will probably overclock to 400mhz with ease. This would essentially give you a 6600 non-GT card or so which outperforms 9600XT. It'll outperform ATI in openGL games like Doom 3 and Quake 4, but don't expect either of them to be fast given they are both very old.
