9600xt flickering in Windows XP

godagain

Junior Member
I upgraded to a sapphire 9600xt today. Under Windows XP, the screen just keeps flickering. I have Epox 8rda+ and barton 2500+. Installed all latest software from nvidia and ati. The problem just does not go away.

It must be a software problem since I don't get it in WinME.

Anyone has any suggestions?

Thanks.

There are different drivers for XP and ME, make sure you are installing the correct ones.

Try downloading the lastest drivers from ATI's site perhaps.

Did you use Driver Cleaner to remove your old video drivers? (Google it plz)

But I installed a fresh new copy of XP and got the same problem.

I just installed a new Radeon card, and for some reason I couldn't get the refresh rates to set properly. I had to use PowerStrip to force them. Don't know why...
