9600XT and artifacts in DOOM3

My 9600XT has been running Doom3 for a few months and just recently it started artifacting.

Moved it to stock speeds but it is still messing up. Every other game runs perfect overclocked including an artifact tester.

Was due for a clean reinstall of the OS, but still the same results. I mean hours upon hours of all other games run like a champ, ten minutes of Doom3 and big problems. The gpu is not overheating, the memory chips don't appear any hotter than usual.

Any ideas?

Have you changed your video card drivers recently?

Thanks for the responses guys, I figured it out.

When you install Omega drivers it gives you the option to turn off Fast Writes.

But I went and checked the SmartGart settings and it was turned on. A quick trip to the

bios options to turn it off and now Doom3 plays perfectly at overclocked speeds!
