i've been looking at the 9600pro cards and i came across the pro ultra. it costs 15 or 20 bucks more than a pro but i can't seem to find any info about it. does anyone know what the difference between the two is?

also- would the 9600pro be a good choice for a new system i'm building? what i have so far:

2500 barton
512 ddr
asus a7n8x deluxe
turtle beach santa cruz

i don't game- yet- but i watch a lot of dvd's on my pc. i want a card that i can use for at least a year, maybe two, that will give me good image quality. i'm wondering if i would be better off with a 9600np, 9600pro, or spend another $60-$80 and get a 9700np?

tia for any and all suggestions,
i.

If you don't game YET, you will be more than happy with 9600 NP... ALthough the 9700 would be faster in every case, if your not the everyday gamer you will be fine.

Plus the 9600 pro will be plenty fast for HL2 and what not.

Try doing a google search on:

atlantis 9600 pro ultra

or

Sapphire 9600 pro ultra

lots of hits and reviews

The 9600 Pro is a very fast card, and if you are are not into intense gaming then it will be more than fine for just about any game out there.

I wonder if it is the same as the 9600pro Xtreme that is available here in NZ, the Xtreme is quoted as having 2.5ns memory...:Q
