hello everyone, well im planning on buying a 9800GTX or GTX+, but i just realized that im not sure if that card fits on my dell Dimension 9200, so i was considering another card, a 9600GT or a 9800GT, but i dont know if a 9800GT or 9600GT would run on my Dell power supply wich is 375Watt with two 12v Rails rated a18A each.

if the 9800GTX fits i guess ill go for that with a new psu too. but if it does not then ill have to find some other card.

The power supply should be able to handle the lesser cards just fine, but the 9800 GTX might be cutting it a bit close. Also, the 9800 GTX is a long card, around 10.5" long IIRC, plus takes up two slots. Do some measuring to make sure it will physically fit, as well as whether it covers up your SATA ports.

Does your PSU already have one PCIe power plug?

zap, i measuered the space it looks like it would fit, the fan would appereantly go under the heatsink of the processor, but dont know how tight it might end up being there. if i get the 9800GTX+ i will def buy a new psu, dont want to risk it lol, i noticed it does not have a actuall PCI-E conector, it has a molex on the 12v rail, but i guess ill have to get a converter. how much 2 slots are like 1" right?

ok i oderded a 9800GT Akimbo Edition for the dual slot cooling solution, it was at around 129$ so i guess its ok, its 7.8 inches long so it fits with no problem, itll be here around the 15th of november, hope i didnt make a mistake lol.... by the way do u think that the 9800gt would work ok with the 375 watt PSU ?? i guess it would but not sure . i tried a watt calcutlator here

Your cutting it way too close with the power supply, if you start having issues then you know where it's coming from.
What brand did you get? ZOTAC, EVGA, XFX, BFG, Palit, BFG, PNY?
