9600GSO softmodding?

I've spent about 15 minutes googling but I haven't had a whole lot of luck so far, is it possible to softmod my EVGA 9600GSO 384MB to a 8800GT? I haven't heard a definite no or yes besides posts about the Galaxy Card.

If anyone has experience with this, let me know. Thanks!
 
Nope. I don't think anyone found an EVGA 9600gso with all 8 memory chips. Does yours have 8 chips?
 
When you unlock the stream processors they unlock the bus lines that go with them. You can't feed them without the memory to support them.
 
I used to have that same exact card as you. You can't softmod it.

I tried volt modding it. There's a thread on xtremesystems that'll give you a lot of info, since someone had finally figured it out. Unfortunately, I ended up ripping off the legs of a chip and some of the traces...so that's only for the experienced 😀
