9600GSO softmodding?

I've spent about 15 minutes googling but I haven't had a whole lot of luck so far, is it possible to softmod my EVGA 9600GSO 384MB to a 8800GT? I haven't heard a definite no or yes besides posts about the Galaxy Card.

If anyone has experience with this, let me know. Thanks!

Nope. I don't think anyone found an EVGA 9600gso with all 8 memory chips. Does yours have 8 chips?

No, but would that even matter? I'm not unlock the chips, just the stream processors.

When you unlock the stream processors they unlock the bus lines that go with them. You can't feed them without the memory to support them.

I used to have that same exact card as you. You can't softmod it.

I tried volt modding it. There's a thread on xtremesystems that'll give you a lot of info, since someone had finally figured it out. Unfortunately, I ended up ripping off the legs of a chip and some of the traces...so that's only for the experienced
