9600 Pro with non-pro memory speeds?!?

i was borrowing a friends 9600 pro, i went to look at the clock speeds in ATITool, the core speed is 400, which is right, but a 200mhz 400mhz ddr memory, its sopposed to have 300mhz, 600mhz ddr, wtf, it has 256mb ram, its the info-tek(GeCube) brand, i dont get it....what is wrong here, when i try to set it at 300mhz, it freaks out with artifacts, so, did i get jipped on the ram speed?!. it says R350 core, 9600 pro, in the ati utilities, and it has 400mhz core, so i KNOW its a pro, but wtf is with the ram..

256mb radeon 9600pros tend to use slower memory than their 128mb counterparts.

128mb 600mhz is definately the better card.
