9600: Pro or Pro-Lite?

Hi folks,

I just got a 9600pro, and I have noticed a small sticker on the box that reads "Lite". I don't know if I've been really given a pro or a less-powerful pro-lite. I run 3dmark2003 and got almost 2700 marks, but I don't know if this is correct for a pro or not. What should be the score, in case this is a real pro?
I've run the bench on an xp1800+ with 512mb pc2700, at 1024x768x32@75hz and no AA or AF. Everything at stock speed.

Thanks in advance!

Hey,

I'm in the market for my next card and I was interested in the 9600 pro, as far as I can see the 'lite' refers to the Sapphire card that comes without the game and few cables. I was hoping that was it, at Newegg I see the Sapphire lite at $152 and $168 for the full bundle with the game and cables. I'd like to find out for sure though ! I hope it's nothing to do with the memory installed as there seems to be huge debate about how overclockable these cards are.

That's not the "Lite" I'm referring to. Mine is a Gigacube, and the difference is that the Lite version comes with 4ns RAM clocked at 400Mhz, instead of 600Mhz. That's why I'm hoping to be able to tell one type from the other from the 3dmark scores.

Yikes. If you paid for a Pro and got a Lite, I'd ask for a refund.

As for your score, check some reviews for 9600P 3DM03 scores (Beyond3D, Digit-Life, xbitlabs). Or you could look at the memory chips to determine what speed they are. Perhaps Rage3D has a tool (one of their overclockers) to let you see your current memory speed.

yup, rage has a OC tool that shows your clock speeds, same as rivatuner

No, it's not VIVO.

I've already returned the card to the shop. I should have used some tool like RivaTuner to check the RAM speed, but I didn't think of that before returning the card, the "lite" sticker was enough to me :)

The bad thing now is that I have no videocard until they get a Pro from their supplier and give it to me (right now I'm using my brother's computer).

Went to a computer show yesterday and saw the Giga Cube Radeon 9600 Pro Lite. The sign said VIVO and the store was www.BCE.nl The box didn't say VIVO and I pointed it out to the people, but they assured me it was. Paid for it and opened it up at the stand. Only had the S-VHS and coax RCA TV out dongle. Said, this is not the VIVO version. The guy looked at it and said yes it is showing me the dongle. I said, where is the Video in then??? Promptly got my money back as I watched them close up the box and put it back on display for the next person and not change the signs.
Watch out. Probably going to get the Full Pro VIVO version from www.funcomputer.de then.

Is this OEM Sapphire card the Lite version? I ordered it yesterday because it didn't say Lite but now I am second guessing my purchase. It has the same description as the one on newegg (other than the "Lite" in the title) that a newegg reviewer said has the slower memory.
