9600 pro or G4-4600-8x for Linux

Since there is no DirectX on Linux, I assume it will not matter if I go with the
GeForce 4 as opposed to the radeon.

The 4600 outperforms the 9600pro in benchmarks.
 
nV is probably a safer choice for Linux, but I think a better place to ask this question is in a Linux-oriented forum. I imagine most gamers here use Windows.
