Does anyone know where Evadman is? I see he hasn't logged in since 12/17, which is rather unusual. I have been trying to contact him about the LAN party that amdskip and I are trying to set up in Illinois, but I haven't heard from him at all. Hope he's alright, hopefully he's just away for the holidays!
 
He was unemployed last I knew. I hope things haven't gotten worse. Probably just busy because of the holiday. Or worse yet maybe his time is being taken up by a new job.:Q😀
 
Just saw a post in Off Topic that he was banned for criticizing the Moderators. I don't know if it was a permanent banning or time off to cool down. Apparently Dave (Evadman) was hot about locking or something and he used some pretty strong words to describe the actions of the Mods.

My 2 cents, if worth 2 cents: I hope that it is not a permanent banning. Infraction did not seem harsh enough of a faux pas to be worth that, just words, a stick and stones kind of thing.

 
I posted this in that thread in Off Topic, we thought something may have happened to Evad like a car wreck or something.

We had been looking for Dave (Evadman) in the Distributed Computing Forum since December 17th. Would it be too much of a courtesy of any Mods to let us know when a family member has been banned? and what maybe happened to cause it?


Perhaps Evadman doesnt want you and the entire forum to know if he was banned or the reasons why? Are we now somehow OBLIGATED to REPORT to the forums every time we give someone a timeout, why, and how long? Do you know how many threads that would take or how much time? If Evadman wants to advertise he was banned he can do so by email if he feels so obliged to do so. As of this date we have not overtaken all the email servers of the world. He is not at this time banned from these forums and had the several others who took the time to PM the Moderators to enquire about it bothered to pass it on to their "brothers" you would have known that already. We do not know where he is, and that may be none of anyone's business. If he chooses to appear on the forum there is nothing stopping him.

No kidding, especially when I PM'ed the mods asking politely if he had banned, and they told me that he HAD NOT been banned. Thanks for nothing :|

Perhaps you should consider being more factual. On 25 DEC you politely PM Moderator and requested whether Evadman was banned. Moderator politely replied that Evadman is not banned, and he was not on that date and could have posted if he desired. Just think how much confusion and misunderstanding could have been avoided had you posted that updated information in this thread you started on that date instead of leaving others to post other misunderstandings. The moderator staff is happy to clear up misunderstandings when possible but please do not expect us to post public announcements of the status of each individual. Why un-necessarily place embarrassment on an otherwise member of good standing?

Maybe we should make our own forum. At present I come on line and somtimes can't get subscriber stuff to open in a timely manner. Most of the useful stuff for me is Hot Deals. I joined with a cable connection and there was no slow down even with adds. My purpose was to suppoort the web site with money.
In the past we heard wines cause people were skipping the home page and and decreasing addrevenues and the reason in my opinion was articles are turned out infrequent.

I don't know where Evadman is, but hopefully he's doing ok. 😕
