Which video card option would be better for 3D gaming, a Nvidia 9500M with 512MB, or an ATI 3650 with 1GB? Both are MXM cards with dedicated memory?

According to this comparison, they are almost equal with the 9500m a edging out the 3650. I doubt those benchmarks were done with a 1GB card though, but 1GB should present any improvement over 512MB. 1 difference between the two would be that the 3650 supports DirectX 10.1 while 9500m only supports 10.
So you can't really go wrong with either card since they are so close in performance.

1GB VRAM is essentially useless in a midrange card like the 3650. At resolutions and AA levels necessary to use that much video RAM, both of the cards you listed will be producing FPS counts too low to be playable anyway...

Thats an interesting chart. I wish ATI and Nvidia would be a little more proactive with there mobile GPUs though. Hopefully with ATI/AMD's new methodology to GPU design, we'll se mobile GPUs getting to market quicker.

Its always annoying to see them announce a mobile part, then by the time it actually shows up in shipping notebooks, they are announcing the successor.
