I have a 9500 pro and play alot of new games and while I get great performance in games like madden and wwii online, also BF vietnam runs really nice on my system. I am just wondering how much longer I should hold out for a new card.
or if anything what should be upgraded?

I have ....

Athlon XP 2500 Barton
Asus A7n8x- deluxe
1 gig 2700 Crucial
7200 maxtor 80 gig HD
SB Audigy
52 X CD-rom
Memorex DVD writer.

Until your not satisfied by how your system performs in games you play.

I guess it all depends...if it still works for what you are doing, then hold on to it. The 9500 is definately a great card.... Maybe hold off a bit and pick up a new/used 9800pro when necessary. No real need to stay on the cutting edge, not unless you like to spend money :)

It must still be worthy since they brought it back out and are selling it again. :D

Wasnt the 9500pro soft-mod-able gaining some hefty performance? Either way, if it performs well for you, your good.

No the Pro's were not. the NP's with a L shaped memory were but ussually only about 30-40% success rate.

A 9800 will blow that 9500 away! felt like night and day difference to me having experience uninstalling a 9800 to test a 9500's softmodability (nay :( ). but even slightly overclocked, i was disapointed in its performance and glad to remove it.

You can flash the bios on the 9500 Pros (almost all are locked). I got mine up to around 300/285 with no problems... but that's not that big a difference over the stock 277/270. Rather than start trying to add better cooling, etc., I just upgraded to a 9800 Pro - they're priced pretty well now (although I'm sure they'll drop more in the next 6 months).

Depending on which card you have, you might have much better success with OCing - particulary if you spend $20 or so and get a VGA Silencer or other cooling solutions.
