9500 pro lockup probs

i got a msi 655 mobo, and a 9500 pro, i experience lockups and freezes during gaming, does anyone know how to solve this?😕
 
Stupid question, but do you have the external power connecter plugged in? Also if you had an Nvidia card before did you completely un-install the dets? Is it all games that lockup and freeze? or any particular ones?
