9500 pro lockup probs

i got a msi 655 mobo, and a 9500 pro, i experience lockups and freezes during gaming, does anyone know how to solve this?

Stupid question, but do you have the external power connecter plugged in? Also if you had an Nvidia card before did you completely un-install the dets? Is it all games that lockup and freeze? or any particular ones?

Also heard that the power connector should not be on the same power line as the hard drive.
