You should check anandtech and hardocp. Both have done benchmarks on a very wide range of cards. If memory serves, you will be able to play Doom3, but not @ high res (probably no higher than 800x600) and only at medium detail @ best.

I'm running a 9500pro, althon xp 2100 @2.0ghz, and 512mb pc2700 ram and the time demo runs at 36fps at 800x600 med quality. During the game, if there are no enemies on the screen it usually runs at 45-60fps (the time demo has lots of enemies and action) and it rarely goes below 20fps in the most intense action sequences.

The game is so dark that playing at a low resolution doesn't hurt image quality much since you can't see the aliased edges that well, and also going from med quality to high quality doesn't look much different either. I'm very satisfied with how my machine runs doom 3 and am happy that my 9500pro will last a while longer.

yeah hard ocp reckon 800x600 at med quality is the 9500pro's sweet spot, an from what ive hear playin in lower resolutions it is still gonna amaze you with how it looks

i have a 9500pro too, and i have pre ordered D3 for Fri (off amazon probs come monday or tue tho) and will see how it runs, i have a P4 2.4A (northwood 400Mhz fsb) and this will be plenty speedy for the 9500pro, which is clocked at 325/300 :)

I have a 9500 Pro, P4 2.4, 512MB RDRAM, it runs OK at 8x6 w/high detail, but once the action hots up it really starts to stutter. I am going to give up playing it until I build my new rig with an X800XT. I want to be able to enjoy a game like this in all it's glory.

I run 10*7 medium details shadows off. Ti4400 and 2500@2.2GHz. Average 40FPS. Just turn off shadows youll get 10FPS more

Turn off shadows??? The shadows are one of the major innovations of the doom 3 engine. Much better to turn the resolution down to 800x600, which made a big difference for me.

I swapped out my 9500Pro to a BFG 6800 Ultra OC just for this game. I wanted to see for myself what the High Quality setting looked like and believe me, it's worth the price of admission. The 9500Pro worked well at 800x600 at Medium Quality with shadows turned off but after being used to playing games at at least 1024x768 and at the High Quality graphics setting (Far Cry), I just couldn't handle it anymore with Doom 3.
