Ok, don't know what's up but I just got a 9500 pro (built by ATI oem) and fired up the 3dmark2001SE and got less than my Visiontek GF3 (regular). I installed the Cat 3.2 drivers. What am I doing wrong or is the score being held back by my Tbird 1.4gig cpu?

Btw, I should be receiving my XP2400 cpu this week. I would still expect the superior card to up my marks a bit, even if bottlenecked by cpu.

Oh man, this is bad.

Many people are getting higher than 12000 marks with this cpu and graphics card!

11k

13.5k!

And dozens more!

I see that my FSB is showing as 66, I have it set as 133/133 in bios. Am I missing something?

It shows 10.5 multiplier and 1400mhz on boot up.

You shouldn't expect those scores from a default setup - you should probably expect around 9500 to 10500 marks though.

First, you may want to try to re-install the motherboard drivers (I believe that board uses an SiS chipset, so sis.com.tw would be the place to go). Also, make sure you haven't left V-sync enabled, and havent left FSAA and/or Anisotrophy enabled. If that doesn't work, reinstall Dx9, and finally finally install the Cat 3.2s once more (straight over top of the old drivers - don't uninstall the previous drivers).

Also check what your AGP speed is set to; it may be set to AGPx1 if the initial driver installation didn't go properly.

I thought the point of having the Radeon was that leaving AA on not be a performance hit. No matter, they were all off on default settings. I'm not sure about the motherboard drivers. I hope it's a driver installation issue first. I removed the current GF3 card from devices and rebooted to standard VGA mode before installing the Catalyst 3.2s. So, hopefully I did that part correctly. I had already installed DX 9 prior to video driver.

You are almost definitely being held back by your CPU. I scored 9477 3D Marks with the setup described in my System Rigs (Interloper). Basically, a 2100+ @ 2.2GHz and a GF3 Ti200. Your Radeon 9500 Pro is significantly faster than my GF3, but it's being bottlenecked at the CPU.
