9500 np vs. TI4200 or TI4800SE

Hello,
Any advice on which card is better? I have seen some reviews where it seems that the 9500 np outperforms TI 4800SE. I would just like to get some other opinions. Does anyone have own the 9500 np? It's really hard to find a review on the 9500 np. I believe it's rarer than the 9500 Pro. I have heard of softmodding the card to 9700 np specs., but at the same time I have read some nightmare threads of the outcome. I know the 9500 PRO and even the 9700 np would be the better card, but I'm on budget and do not want to spend that much. The 9500 Pro and 9700 np exceed my limit. Also, do you get DirectX 9 and 8 pixel pipeline with the 9500 np? What exactly is the difference between the 9500 Pro and 9500 np?

a 4800 will beat a 9500 non pro, i would go with the 4200, since you can get one for like 100 bux and then o/c it to a 4800

A 9500np outperforms with aa/af on, but otherwise is quite a bit slower. IMO, it's no good if you can't softmod it, costs more than a ti4200 yet performs worse. It is dx9 though, just like the pro. The difference between a 9500np and a 9500 pro is that the pro has all 8 pipelines enabled, whereas the non pro does not. That's where the softmod comes in, it attempts to enable those 4 other pipes. But when you enable them sometimes you get artifacts or checkboarding. If you want to try the softmod be prepared for it to fail and only be using a 9500np. If you wouldn't be happy with a 9500np the softmod isn't really for you. The ti4200 probably has the best price/performance out of the bunch, and is what I would get.

4200 is the best deal, but what exactly is your budget?

9500 is only fastest for DX9 because GF4 doesn't even support.
For DX8 or earlier games both GF4 are faster than 9500.

If you are into AA/AF and DX9 ready is a must, go for 9500. Otherwise go 4200.
