9500 flicker at boot?

Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue during boot when it loads into Windooz XP. The hole screen flickers for .5 sec and then everything is fine. Ran 3dmark2001 last night for 8 hours without problems. This is not the flicker like what other people mentioned in other threads...or maybe it is.
Any ideas 😕?

My rig is:
Abit NF7-S
1700xp @2.3Ghz 200@11.5
SLK800
Corsair XMS 3500
120 gig HD

Going to oc this 9500 I got from Newegg when I get home from work.

Yes, this is a common finding on boot-up with the 9500/9700 cards. Some people also see a more prolonged distortion, but its always gone by the time the desktop loads). In that case, it is usually linked to specific motherboard chipsets or power supplies (in that changing one or the other has caused the problem to go away for some). Similarly, disabling fast writes or 8X AGP has also been reported to solve the graphical glitch.

Regardless, it doesn't seem to cause any sort of problem (mine has done it for the 6 months I've had it, and absolutely no other problems to date). So, I wouldn't worry about it and just enjoy the card!

I notice my card has an odd flicker when the general bios screens load up, I haven't thought anything of it, since its only like that for 1 second or so.

 cool. I guess things should be ok then. Time to head :clock: home and oc my card now.
wooohoo! hope it works!

peace!
