950 tbird @ 1310

there`s a guy over at overclockers.com that says he has a 950 tbird running at 1310 and has 4 more from the same batch seem`s a little high to me??

That isn't totally unbelievable. Over at amdzone.com i've heard of people doing that. Although seems a little harder with a 950, but more reasonable with a 1 gig and up.

i live in MI and have pumped cold air in from the out side im talking about -3 air... cooled my cpu down to 13C and the highest i could run stable was 1289

it seem`s that the 300mgz oc mark is perty hard to reach

I live in Michigan too (Muskegon) and the temps have warmed up above freezing now. I hope your system is still running stable. heh

only tried it for a little while just before xmas got the idea from silver back

this summer when my computer room reaches a higher temp(2nd floor) im going to switch the dryer vent hose over to the AC that should do a nice job.. 😀

the p4 is way overrated. the FSB isnt as fast as it says because its 4 100mhz buslines. also, its WAY too expensive. amd is the way to go, so it seems.

logic would dictate that the longer they make the chips the more refined and the less errors there would be in the chip. That is why my duron 650 week 32 goes up to 950 max and my uncles week 51 goes up to 1050 mhz.. it could also be that amd is holding off on higher speed grades above 1.2 because they can make enough money off of the 1.2 and under that they don't need a 1.3-1.6 and as a result they are pushing the higher speed grade chips off as 900-1.2ghz and don't say they wouldn't do this because i have an athlon 600 with a 750 core at my uncles house right now to prove it to you

He could have easily reached that. All he has to do is watercool his cpu. And as for the sisoft screenshot, you dont have to be a hacker, he could of just edited the picture very easily.

I think he said hacking meaning tweakink, i.e. modding themobo to get more voltage.
My 2 cents....

<< dang, 1400mhz. would it beat the p4 1.4ghz? >>

Actually a 1200MHz bird would beat the P4 1400 in most apps.

I like the sound of this 1.4GHz T-Bird... I'm just hoping to get about 1100MHz out of my 900 though, I don't wat to push too much 🙂
